As the Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) agency for Southeast Louisiana, Agenda for Children is working on several levels to provide COVID-19 resources families and child care centers.
Directory of Open Centers Willing to Enroll Children of First Responders
We are closely tracking which centers are open and willing to enroll children of critical infrastructure workers. For more information about who is considered a critical infrastructure worker, financial supports available, and a listing of centers that are willing and able to enroll children of critical infrastructure workers, visit our COVID-19 Child Care for Essential Workers page.
If you are a child care provider who would like to be listed, please fill out our respite care form.
Resources for All Families
We’re compiling as many resources for children and families as we can find on our COVID-19 Resources for Families page, including guidelines on talking to children during challenging times, activities you can do at home while social distancing, and resources in the community (such as free meals, diaper banks and more).
Resources for Centers
We’re also trying to support all centers, whether they’ve decided to temporarily close their doors, or they’re staying open to support the children of essential workers. Visit our COVID-19 Resources for Centers page for links to important government updates, resources available to centers (including mental health consultation and No Kid Hungry grants to support feeding programs) and information on how to maintain a healthy and safe environment for children and staff.
