The Hurricane Ida Recovery Fund for Louisiana Child Care Providers
Agenda for Children is partnering with the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children to raise $200,000 to support child care providers affected by Hurricane Ida. As recovery efforts continue, child care providers are critical to getting our economy back on track. Child care allows parents and caregivers to go to work or advance their education while providing crucial early learning experiences to children. The Fund will provide a much-needed infusion of funds to centers to help them get up and running quickly so that families can return and get started on our region’s recovery.
Businesses: School Readiness Tax Credits
One of the best investments you can make for your business, Louisiana’s children and our community, is to donate to the School Readiness Tax Credit program.
Businesses with a Louisiana Tax ID are eligible to receive a 100% refundable state tax credit up to $5,000 for contributions to Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (CCR&Rs). If the credit exceeds your business’ tax liability, you will receive a check for the difference.
Individuals: $1 Invested in ECE = $16 Return to Society
As documented by the landmark HighScope Perry Preschool Project research, low-income children who participated in high quality early childhood education were more likely to graduate from high school, earn more money, own their own homes and build a stable foundation for their families. Their own children have continued to make gains in education, health, employment and civil life.
Every $1 you invest in early childhood education will yield a return to society of more than $16. Your donation will reap dividends for future generations for years to come.
Thanks to our donors, since 2018 Agenda for Children has provided nearly $2M in sub-grants to centers and nonprofits through our ECHO Fund for stabilization supports, quality improvements, and innovative projects.
