We’re here to help.
You have the power to build a strong foundation for children’s lifelong learning and success.
Agenda for Children can give you the tools to realize your dreams to help children reach their full potential.
We Support Early Childhood Educators
Children begin learning from their very first moments of life. Agenda for Children supports early childhood educators as they work to create high-quality environments and experiences that help young children learn, develop and grow.
Agenda offers several programs for teachers of young children, directors of child care centers and family child care providers. Our training opportunities include coaching and workshops on a wide variety of topics ranging from health and safety consultations to classroom arrangement ideas, strategies to create an inclusive child care program and technical assistance to enhance the quality of your program.

Educator
Olayeela “Mama O” Daste is a lifelong educator and learner who started Child Care Resource and Referral in 1989, and worked at Agenda for Children until her retirement in 2018. Generations of early care and educators benefited from her leadership, wisdom and gentle belief in doing what’s right for kids. She co-led the Umoja Committee for many years, organizing Children’s Kwanzaa and an annual Celebration of the African American Child.
In 2020, Agenda for Children secured the allocation of state-directed spending of federal aid for a pandemic teacher wage enhancement to provide a 6-month wage enhancement for more than 7,000 early childhood teachers in Louisiana.
