Child Care Resource & Referral Program for Southeast Louisiana
Agenda for Children’s Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) program is the Louisiana Department of Education-contracted child care resource and referral agency for 11 parishes in Southeast Louisiana: Assumption, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, St. Tammany, Terrebonne and Washington.
As a CCR&R, Agenda works to improve the quality of early education through three key initiatives:
Resource & Referral
The “R & R” program connects parents to child care that meets their specific needs.
Child Care Coaching
Our coaching program provides on-site coaching to early childhood education programs. Through the coaching process, our experienced early childhood specialists work with teachers and leaders to improve program quality and the quality of teacher-child interactions.
Workshops for Early Care and Education Professionals
Our professional development program provides workshops for early childhood educators on topics related to CLASS®, curriculum, child assessment, child development, and program administration.
Advocate
Sherry Guarsico is a lifelong advocate for Louisiana’s children. As DCFS’s Executive Director of the Division of Child Care and Early Education, she led post-Katrina and post-Rita recovery efforts for child care centers in affected parishes. She went on to serve as CEO of the Louisiana Partnership for Children and Families, where she continued to advocate for a broad range of children’s issues.
In 2024, Agenda provided over 7,500 hours of professional development, coaching, and technical assistance to more 830 teachers and 274 directors across 188 programs including Family Child Care providers in Southeast Louisiana.
