Professional Development Workshops Improve the Quality of Early Care and Education

In the 2020-21 school year, Agenda for Children provided over 270 workshops to nearly 5,000 educators across southeast Louisiana.

We offer a variety of workshops to improve the skills of educators and leaders related to CLASS, child assessment, child development, curriculum and much more. Our workshops allow educators and leaders to receive Pathways-approved professional development clock hours. We also offer customized professional development workshops for all program types.

We have temporarily suspended in-person workshops due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are offering virtual workshops.

Updated CPR/Pediatric First Aid Requirements

In compliance with federal requirements, on September 30, 2021, Louisiana began monitoring that staff at all licensed child care centers have current certification in CPR/Pediatric First Aid through training approved by LDOE. This is a change from previous rules, which required only 50%  of staff members to have current certification.

The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) – Division of Licensing is assisting licensed providers and Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) certified family home and  in‐home providers with obtaining CPR/Pediatric First Aid for their staff for free or at minimal cost.
