Workshop FAQs

Please find answers to some Frequently Asked Questions about Agenda for Children’s Early Care & Education Workshops.

How do I register for currently offered workshops?

Visit our Registration System to see all of our currently scheduled workshops. If you need help navigating our registration system, click here for step-by-step instructions.

Please note that, due to restrictions in our CCR&R contract, we are unable to offer online registration to Type I and Type II center staff and school staff until we’ve met the minimum number of participants for Type III staff. Schools and Type I/II centers are also welcome to arrange customized workshops for their staff at any time.

Where can I find a full list of all the classes you offer?

Visit our Custom Workshops page for a full course catalog, information about costs and to request a custom session for your team. Please note that you should reach out at least six weeks before your preferred workshop date, as we require completed, signed request forms to be submitted at least 30 days before the session. We are unable to accommodate last-minute requests.

If you are interested in seeing workshops that are currently being offered, go to our Registration Management Site.

How do we request a custom workshop at our site?

If you are interested in scheduling a workshop at your center or school, please contact please contact our professional development department at pd@agendaforchildren.org.

How do I get my certificate for a training I attended?

The answer to that question depends on the type of workshop you attended:

  • Virtual health and safety class: your certificate will be mailed to the address we have on record. Please be sure your address is correct before attending the workshop. Duplicate copies cost $10.
  • In-person health and safety class: your certificate was distributed at the end of the workshop.
  • All other workshops: log into your training account and follow the instructions.

Why is my account blocked?

Accounts may be blocked for non-payment or for registering for workshops and not attending them (without cancelling or dropping in advance). Please call your local office to get your account unblocked.

I signed up for a class, but I can no longer attend. How do I drop the class?

If you paid for a class, contact your local office to transfer your registration to a colleague or request a partial refund. For free classes, drop a class by following these steps:

  • Log into your account
  • Click on My Account> Registrations
  • Locate the class you’d like to drop and click on the Drop option.
  • On the next screen, you need to confirm that you really want to drop the class by clicking on Drop.

It will return you to your registrations page. You can confirm that your drop was successful because the class should no longer be listed on your registrations.

Where can I learn more about obtaining a CDA or Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate (ECAC)?

Please visit our Ancillary Certificate page for more information on the CDA process.

What do I need to know about attending a virtual workshop?

Be sure to:

  • Register using an account associated with your own email address (not your director’s email address).
  • Download Zoom to your device (tablet or computer preferred) before the workshop.
  • Plan to be in a quiet location with consistent internet access for the whole session.

If you lose your internet connection, your instructor will not allow you back in and you won’t get credit for the session.

What do I need to do to open a Family Child Care Home?

If you would like to participate in the Child Care Assistance or Food programs, you must take a mandatory training called Family Child Care Orientation. This workshop will take you step-by-step through the process of how to begin and run a family child care program. Click here for the training.

When will in-person classes resume?

We are closely monitoring COVID cases and vaccination rates in our region. At this time, we are not planning to resume our in-person seminars (with multiple classes running simultaneously over the course of a Saturday) during the 2021-2022 school year.

We are considering face-to-face professional development sessions for individual sites on a case-by-case basis. Please see the Custom Workshops page to learn more about how to arrange for a customized workshop for your staff.
