Class Registration

Registration is required for all of Agenda for Children classes. This allows our trainers to properly prepare for each session. To guarantee a space, we must receive your completed registration form and payment prior to the workshop.

Signing up for Workshops

When you sign up online for Agenda for Children trainings, you can:

  • Search for workshops
  • Register yourself and your staff for workshops
  • Pay for classes (a credit card is required)
  • Take evaluations and download certificates

Please note that you should not create a new account each time you change employers. Instead, you can simply call or email us (pd@agendaforchildren.org) to de-link your account from your previous employer. 

Cancellation and Refund Policy

All cancellations, substitutions, and reschedule requests must be made in writing via email to Agenda for Children at customerservice@agendaforchildren.org or via fax to 504-586-8522.

Before a program begins, Agenda incurs substantial administrative costs related to your registration. We have wait lists for many of our classes, so it is VERY helpful if you let us know if you will not be able to attend a workshop that you registered for.

If you are unable to attend a workshop for whatever reason, you can request that a colleague attend in your place (within at least 3 days’ notice) or drop the class through our registration system. If you want to cancel less than 72 hours before a training, notify us at pd@agendaforchildren.org.

Cancellation Policy for Fee-based Workshops

  • You will receive a refund of 75% if you cancel your registration more than 14 days before the class start date.
  • If you cancel 14 or fewer days before a class, you cannot receive a refund. However, an organization may substitute a colleague for the original registrant up to two days prior to the start of the workshop at no charge; this substitution should be made in writing.
  • Program registrants who fail to attend (“no show”) with no notification will be charged the full program cost.
  • All remaining funds must be used within 12 months of the date of transfer or cancellation.

Our “No Show” Policy

Anyone who registers for a health and safety training workshop but fails to attend without warning will be blocked in our online registration system. They will also not be eligible to register for the next round of health and safety trainings.

For all other trainings, anyone who “no shows” for two or more trainings in a row will be temporarily blocked from using our online registration system. They will need to call our offices in order to be unblocked so that they can register for future classes.

We put these policies into place because we often have far more interest in our classes than spaces available. When people “no show,” they take a valuable seat that someone else in the community needed and would have used.

Cost of Trainings

Type III Centers: Our professional development program offers most workshops at no cost to staff who work at Type III child care centers and family child care providers registered with the Child Care Assistance Program.

Schools, Type I and Type II Centers: Staff at schools and Type I and Type II centers can attend most workshops at a cost of $10/two-hour session per participant. Due to restrictions in our funding, we are not able to open registration up to Type I and Type II centers until we have enough participants from Type III centers registered for a workshop. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you work for a school that only uses purchase orders, please contact us at pd@agendaforchildren.org to arrange payment.

When We Cancel Workshops

In the event that a scheduled workshop is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, registered participants for the session will be notified and anyone who paid workshop fees will be fully refunded if they do not transfer to another class. Please be sure to provide current contact information, including an email address, in our registration system so that we can get in touch!

Child Care Policy

We are committed to children, but out of respect for the adult learners in our sessions, children are not allowed at the workshop sessions. Therefore, please do not bring your children to the session as you and your children will not be allowed to stay.
