November: The Power of Play
Agenda for Children invites you to spend a day with us in our Model Classroom on Monday, November 9, 2026!
Step into our Model Classroom for a full day of hands-on workshops. Experience the Power of Play with our newest Spend A Day experience and learn how to support joyful learning in your early childhood classroom. Each session offers a chance to learn, connect, and grow with fellow educators. Upon completion of the day, participants will be awarded the Power of Play badge, a certificate, and six clock hours. The Spend-A-Day-Experience runs from 8 AM to 3 PM, including breaks, and participants must attend all workshops.

Power of Play Program Overview:
Play sparks learning for young children and is the heartbeat of every big lesson. The following collection of 3 workshops highlights how games, movement, and creativity help children form friendships, strengthen skills, and let their imaginations soar:
- Little Friends, Big Lessons: For young children, the path to friendship begins not with words, but with play. This session is designed to help you create an environment where play naturally fosters friendship skills. You’ll discover practical ways to teach children how to build and nurture friendships, weave meaningful connections into everyday routines, and unlock the powerful role of play in their development.
- Arts In Action: During this session, participants will explore creative ways to integrate the arts into everyday life in an early childhood classroom. By comparing and contrasting process vs. product art, participants will better understand the benefits of open-ended experiences in visual, dramatic, and musical arts.
- Moving and Grooving: Get ready for active play! Participants will consider movement activities and materials that help children learn through play while meeting motor development milestones. Discover new ways to incorporate gross motor learning throughout the day and develop new DIY materials to use in your classroom.

What is the Spend-A-Day-Experience?
The Spend-A-Day-Experience is an opportunity for early childhood educators to complete a full-day series of workshops on a curated topic. From 8 AM-3 PM, participants will complete three sessions and engage in deep conversations and hands-on activities with their peers. After successfully completing the Spend-A-Day-Experience, participants will earn 6 clock hours as well as a certificate and collectible pin as part of our new Badge Dat! program.
Who is eligible to participate in Spend-A-Day-Experience?
Free registration is open to all Type III educators within Agenda for Children's service region.
Where will the workshop be held?
The workshop will be held at 8300 Earhart Blvd, Suite 103 in New Orleans.
Is there an option to attend virtually?
No, there are no virtual options for Spend-A-Day-Experiences.
What time are the workshops?
The workshops begin at 8 AM and end at 3 PM. There will be one 15 minute break and a 45 minute lunch break. You must complete the full day to earn clock hour credit. Please arrive at 7:45 AM to allow time to park and get situated.
Where do I park?
There is limited parking available in the lot in front of the building. Additional parking may be found in the surrounding neighborhood or in the empty lot behind the nearby Autozone.
What should I bring?
We suggest bringing a light sweater, water bottle, and a pen. You may also choose to bring snacks and a lunch as meals and food will not be provided. Our classroom has a refrigerator should your meal require refrigeration. You may also choose to leave for the 45 minute meal break and we can suggest nearby quick-stop restaurants. The workshops will resume as soon as the lunch break ends, and you must return on time when the break is over.
