We Support Families and Caregivers
Agenda for Children’s Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) program is the Louisiana Department of Education-contracted child care resource and referral agency for 12 parishes in Southeast Louisiana. The CCR&R program helps families find child care that meets their specific needs.
Our Child Care Resource and Referral department can help you:
- learn what quality early care and education looks like and how to find it.
- learn how high-quality early education builds the foundation for your child’s lifelong success.
- learn about the early care and education programs available to you, including child care centers, family child care homes and Head Start.
- find information about community resources that can help you pay for child care, get free or low-cost health insurance for your children and learn about effective parenting strategies.
Our services are available, free of charge, to families living in Assumption, Jefferson, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, St. Tammany, Terrebonne and Washington parishes.

Co-founder, Agenda for Children
Linetta Gilbert is a co-founder of Agenda, our first employee, and steadfast champion. Linetta has made change everywhere she has been, from helping to design the CDA credential to grantmaking at the Greater New Orleans Foundation and the Ford Foundation.
Agenda for Children secured income eligibility changes in the Child Care Assistance Program that made 16,000 additional Louisiana families eligible for assistance. We also advocated for and changed CCAP eligibility rules to allow families to use “job search” as a qualifying activity for receiving child care assistance.
