Description:

LSUHSC-HDC seeks to hire an Assistant Teacher for the Early Learning Center. The Early Learning Center provides quality inclusive childcare to children ages 6 weeks to 48 months. The Assistant Teacher will collaborate with other Early Learning Center staff to create positive and safe inclusive learning and development environments for children in a classroom. Assistant Teacher ensures the daily care of 8-12 children by following all licensing regulations and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.

Some of the job duties will include collaborating with Lead Teacher to care for 8-12 children in a classroom. The Assistant Teacher participates in Early Learning Center team meetings and participates in professional development.

Minimum Education:
Associate's Degree
Other Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate of Science degree in Care and Development of Young Children or related field
  • At least 1 year of classroom experience in an early learning center

Preferred:

Preference will be given to applicants with any of the following: Child Development Associate credential; experience working in early intervention; working within an interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary model of service delivery; experience using coaching-based interventions; expereince with the Creative Curriculum, TS GOLD, and/or CLASS.
