ECHO Fund Grants
The Early Childhood Opportunity (ECHO) Fund is an innovative grant program that seeks to increase access to high-quality early care and education for Louisiana children, birth through age four, by directly funding childcare programs and the nonprofits that serve them.
Since 2018, the Early Childhood Opportunity (ECHO) Fund has enhanced early childhood education by providing over 2,300 grants totaling more than $ 13 million. Our ongoing commitment is to increase access, foster ingenuity, and elevate the quality of early learning in the region.

The Program Quality ECHO Fund Grant for Orleans Parish (Non-City Seats) is designed to support early childhood providers in enhancing the overall quality of their programs. This cycle, the grant allows for any and all expenditures that contribute directly or indirectly to improve program quality, expanding beyond instructional-related expenses to include a broader range of investments in program enhancement.
Eligibility
To be eligible applicants must meet ALL the following criteria:
Your site must be:
- Located in Orleans Parish
- A Type III site, including Early Head Start (EHS) and Head Start (HS), or a Family Child Care (FCC) with Academic Approval (AA)
- A Non-City Seats Site
- In good standing with the LDOE Licensing Department and Agenda for Children and NOEEN
Please note: City Seats sites, school-based sites (public or nonpublic), and unlicensed childcare providers are not eligible for this grant opportunity.
All eligible providers are strongly encouraged to apply. Each eligible site that submits a complete application will be approved, provided they submit a full and complete application reflecting the approved uses of grant funds. Applications are submitted via Foundant, our grant management system. Individual grant amounts will be determined after all grant applications have been received and processed.
